-Tuesday, December 18th, 2007-

Jim Jones still isn’t on speaking terms with Killa Cam but he’s making moves of his own. Jones reveals that Diplomatic Immunity 3 is in the works and that he has a special collabo album coming up:

Jim Jones and Styles P yesterday (December 16) announced that they will be releasing an album together via Koch Records during an interview with British hip hop radio host Tim Westwood on BBC’s 1Xtra.

“Me and Styles got an album coming out,” Jones revealed. “The Ghost and The Capo, NYC to the fullest! It’s a good thing, shout out to Koch, they giving up that paper, so why not?”

“They say there is not a lot of unity where we come from. [Jim] represents a strong army and I represent a strong army, so there is money to be made,” added Styles P. “ He’s been on the grind a long time, I’ve been on the grind a long time and besides music there isn’t too many artists I bump with in the industry. Me and Jim we’ve had a relationship over the years, we see each other in the hood and we’ve kicked it. Somebody gotta put the city on their back , so we gonna put it on our backs.”

When asked about what he’d do if Hov went to Sony and was an overseer of his project:

“If you remember the movie Backstage [where] Dame Dash was barking on Kevin Liles, If Jay take that position, he will be Kevin Liles and I’ll be barking on him.”

A Crying Camel

I know I won’t be the only one to find this funny. Nor will I be the only one to have about 50 Jiggaman jokes pop into my head.

DeHaven Continues to Air Out Jay

-Saturday, December 1st, 2007-

 jayde.jpg

After promising to air out Jay and not doing much but talk in circles, Jay’s ex-right-hand-man De-Haven finally sits down to deliver on his promise:

In the video for his new hit single “Roc Boys (And the Winner Is),” Jay talks about a crew of Marcy hustlers called the Roc Boys. Were you a Roc Boy?
I have no idea what a Roc Boy is, actually. I guess that’s something new that they’re coming up with now. There was no crew back in ’88; it was just me and him, so I don’t know how he got “Roc Boys.”

What was he like back then?
He was hanging with some “school”guys. Nerds! We didn’t get together actually until after the fifth grade, in intermediary school. We played baseball and basketball. He wasn’t tough on the court at all. He didn’t like physical ball. He was the same type of guy then as he is now, just a cool guy. He wasn’t no bully, he didn’t start no trouble.

Did you and Jay sell drugs together?
No, he ain’t do much selling drugs. I did all that work. He was just a good dude to be around. He was one of my best friends. I taught him some things, but I mainly kept him from being out on the street a lot. Whatever was mine was his. So, we shared clothes, we shared a whole bunch of stuff. We had sex with the same women plenty of times. We both got burnt! We had the drip. My mom took him to the clinic. My mom also got him out of jail.

No homo on that last bit. Probably the most devastating to Jay stans:

You’re saying Jay appropriated your story?
He says it himself. He’s been talking about me since day one, on a lot of his albums. He mentioned me on The Black Album, and I hadn’t seen him in years.

The UK Ain’t Feelin’ Jay

-Wednesday, November 14th, 2007-

jayuk.jpg

When Kanye and 50 had their battle back in September, Kanye won stateside, and 50 scooped the #1 position across the pond. This past week, Hov dropped his 10th #1 album here in the states, but across the water things weren’t all gravy.

In the UK Jay-Z came in #30 on the top 40 albums chart, being beat out by a number of albums including Timbaland’s “Shock Value” (which has been out since April), Rihanna’s “Good Girl Gone Bad” and Whitney Houston’s “Ultimate Collection”.

Keeping up with the U.S. trend though, “American Gangster” still debuted above Chris Brown’s “Exclusive”.

What does that say about Jay? I dunno. Maybe he’s not International like that. Or maybe, just maybe, Def Jam didn’t feel like buying albums overseas. Hey, we were all thinking it, I just said it.

Jigga Smashes Cass

-Wednesday, November 14th, 2007-

jaycass.JPG

Some of you may remember a little while back, Cassidy felt a lil froggish and told Jay Z to push “American Gangster” back. Well, obviously Jigga didn’t, and both of their CDs dropped last Tuesday.

Well, the numbers in, it’s an embarrassing look for Cass. “American Gangster” sold over 6 times as many units as “B.A.R.S.”. Take that, take that.

Jadakiss Forgets his lines on stage

-Monday, November 12th, 2007-

After Jiggaman takes a moment for Kanye’s mother and performs Roc Boyz, he brings out Jadakiss who then forgets the lines to his own songs. Eventually Jay just performs Roc Boyz again.Shaking my fucking head….

Beyonce Strongarmed Camron?

-Sunday, November 11th, 2007-

camb.jpg

In an interview with hhnlive, Diplomats producer Digga speaks on the old Beyonce and Cam issue (where Cam wrote a hook that had B singing about slingin crack — which Cam later used as a shot to Jay) .

The funny thing is, Cam did write that hook about slingin crack but Beyonce got a check and she muscled Cam out of some of his publishing and writer credits too. So, who really won? That’s the part he doesn’t want to tell you

Not a good look for our pink-loving harlemite. Digga also took the time to speak on 50’s “Many Men”

I wasn’t in the studio when he recorded it. 50 recorded that song 2 years prior to its release when he didn’t have a record deal. That track went through Nas and Cam’s hands before 50 got a hold of it. I remember being on the phone with 50 for about 2 hours talking about his plans for Yayo, Banks and his whole plan. That’s why I really respect 50 because he saw the vision for G-Unit early on. He told me he was definitely using the song on his album but I didn’t believe him because I hear that all the time. Sha Money XL played it for me and I thought it was crazy but I didn’t think Dr. Dre would like it. Once I started getting calls from A&Rs and industry people who had heard about the song, I knew the song was gonna be something special. I’m proud of the song’s success but I’m most proud of how many people it has reached across the world. I get people from Africa and South America emailing about Many Men.

Jay a little bitter over “American Gangster”?

-Thursday, November 1st, 2007-

 jigga.jpg

According to this blog, the Jiggaman has been trying to get his foot in the door o f the gangster flick for a minute. It would also seem his new album “inspired” by the movie is just a little payback. Take this with a grain of salt:

A confidential source has revealed the real reason behind Jay Z’s “concept” album “American Gangster”. The source who is close to Jay Z’s camp, said Jay Z was “hurt” and “disappointed” that he didn’t get the plum role of the Harlem numbers runner-turned-heroin dealer. The insider also said Jay Z felt slighted when the film’s producers nixed his offer to record the soundtrack for the movie.

He was assed out,” said the insider. “They f*cked with his ego big time. Jay is not a man who can take no for an answer.” The source also said Jay Z called in favors and tried to pull rank by going to Denzel Washington, who was eventually given the role.

According to the insider, when Universal Studios cancelled production of “American Gangster” in 2004, Jay Z felt it was a sign from God. “He felt like if he wasn’t going to be in it the movie shouldn’t be made at all.”

When production on the movie began anew in 2005, Jay Z changed tactics. “By then they had spent so much money on this thing, Jay just wanted to be involved in any way he could cause he thought [the movie] was going to be a block buster,” said the source. Jay Z visited the set often and convinced his friend Denzel to talk to the producers on his behalf. “He wanted to do the soundtrack to the movie so bad, and initially everyone involved thought it was a great idea,” said the source. “But nothing ever got signed - just a lot of talk.

Click the link to read more, but if it’s true, sounds like someone’s a little bitter. I can’t blame them though, did you see his acting in State Property? Nuff said.
